You can specify a filter for an entire folder with dashboards. Every dashboard which is loaded from this folder will inherit the filter you have specified.

Notice, however, that individual charts and tables can have their own filter settings. If you apply a filter on both a folder and an individual chart/table you shopuld make sure there is no conflict between these filters.

Here is how you apply a filter to a folder:

  1. Right-click on a folder and select Edit filter
  2. Click Next to go to the Apply filter to folder dialogue:

  3. Expand the tree view until you find the segmentation variable you want to use in your filter (indicated by  or  ).
  4. Expand the segmentation variable and select one or more segments (indicated by).
  5. Repeat step 3 and 4 if you want to include/exclude more segments in your filter.
  6. Click Finish and reload the dashboard by double clicking on it in the new folder

When the dashboard reloads, your filter will be applied to all inserted charts or tables. The filter will be applied to any dashboard which is saved in the folder. For more information about how to use different filtering options such as include/exclude segments, search and sorting, see the section Filtering options and How to find segments using search and sorting.
