When you create a new dashboard, it always consists of only one cell to start with. However, you may add as many cells as you want to your dashboard.

Right-click anywhere on your new dashboard to Insert rows and/or cells:
You can insert as many rows as you like, and each row can be split into an infinite number of cells.

Drag the borders of cells and rows with your mouse to easily determine their relative sizes:
